My name is Amaal, I'm an artist, designer, maker & creative entrepreneur who believes in the transformative power of art to shape a more mindful, connected, and sustainable future.

My professional creative journey started in the German University in Cairo’s design school where I studied and got my BA in Product, Graphic and Media Design. I’ve always had a passion for art, design and craftsmanship and have explored that in many areas of creative work.

After graduating, I started my own studio in Cairo and went through the journey of growing that from an idea on paper to a craft room in a shared space, to its own stand alone studio and community centered around bookbinding, a love of the craft process and each other.

Today, grain is on pause and I am in Washington, DC exploring expanding my creative work and a new project to be launches soon.
