For the 2021 edition of Dawayer Festival, I was commissioned to create a moving installation using Origami.
The concept took inspiration from the “out of this world” landscape of Siwa and how we can accentuate that in the setting of a Music and Wellness Festival.
The “Celestial Orb” is a paper based origami installation. Each Orb is made up of 12 square papers folded to join together and form the Orb.
A bunch were made to surround the DJ booths for the mornings and one was made to center an installation by Kareem Osman. Holographic paper was used to accentuate the surroundings both night and day.
